11/9/2023 0 Comments Thermador rangeThe air coming out of it was also super hot but the wall wasn't hot but it wasn't an apples to apples comparison though because they're unit was pulled about an inch away from the wall and we couldn't push it all the way back. It had the same type of venting but had 3 separated smaller flues, all venting straight up through the island trim. I went to the Wolf showroom and got a demo of their gas oven. After examining the vent up close, I could see one huge flue in the middle that was venting the hot air. They did not even know about the back guard accessory. I went back to the company that I bought it from and they told me "yea thats how it works, the wall is going to get hot". they are putting the blame on the appliance people who sold it to me and said they shiuld of notified me how it has to be installed.this is definitely and issue with a thermador stove gicing off too much heat.the reason I saw that is my builder built 2 identical house with exact same backsplash only difference is my neighbor has a wolf stove installed same as me with an island trim and no back guard and he has no issues.ive also called stone fabricators and they have seen many stoves installed same as mine with same backsplash and no issues.thermador is the only oven that has this issue.junk!!! Hey everyone I'm having the same problem with my thermador stove, I have it installed counter height with the island trim against quartz s gets extremely hot and I get a ton of condensation.i spoke to thermador a few times and had their service person over and he said it's installed incorrect and needs an ugly back guard that ruins the whole look of my kitchen.i cannot use stove wall gets way too hit thermador will not do anything for me. While you were looking at the pretty pictures, they were putting your money in their pocket, knowing you would eventually be back to give them hundreds more. One pretty picture, and they can get you to believe what your eyes think they see, instead of what the codes, and UL tell you. These companies play on basic human nature. Your life must not be worth their time to look up the specs. The installation of a high BTU range against a wood framed wall without the "UL listed" backguard, and just an "island trim" may take 20 years to kill you.ĭesigners do it wrong to get their picture in a magazine or "best of Houzz". The only difference is that you have heard enough times that the toaster in the bathtub will kill you. Using the "island trim" for a purpose that it is not "UL approved" for is not much different than trying to use your toaster in the bathtub. That narrow flat grate at the back of the range is marketed by Thermador (or Wolf) as an "island trim", and is "Listed" by "UL" as an "island trim".
